
Engr. Bassey Warrie Essiet

Engr. Bassey Essiet, (FNSE) is an active Fellow, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). He is also a registered member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). He is the ex-General Manager, Gas Development Division, NAPIMS – NNPC.
Engr. Bassey holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Eng.) in Petroleum Engineering from University of Ibadan. A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Benin.
He started his career journey at Shell on contract for few years before joining Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as a Reservoir Engineer in 1991 and was posted to Integrated Data Services Limited (IDSL), a subsidiary of NNPC, based in Benin, Edo State.
By dint of hard work, trainings and Certifications both home and abroad, he rose through the ranks to become a Deputy Manager in 2006, and other subsequent Management Positions before his posting as the General Manager, Gas Development Division, NAPIMS.
He has an in-depth and robust experience of the workings in the Oil and Gas industry. For the past 30 years of his experience, he worked in various capacities in Upstream and Downstream sectors of Oil and Gas value Chain. He has made several invaluable contributions that have facilitated the ease of service delivery in NNPC, most especially, in the area of Oil and Gas Projects.
His passion and innovative technical competence are exceptional in the areas of:
• Gas Development and Commercialization
• Reservoir Simulation and Evaluations
As a creative Engineer, he single handedly designed and delivered a technical package of initial professional development scheme for young professionals, the first of its kind. This was adapted as a standard going forward for all fresh entry staff to pass through in the NNPC. He played a vital role in the project team that delivered Exxon Mobil ERHA project for Nigeria.
He is married to a beautiful wife, Barr. Edirin Essiet and blessed with three (3) great children.
